About KACS

Korea Association for Consciousness Sciences (KACS) is a dynamic, interdisciplinary organization dedicated to advancing the study of consciousness. Founded in June 2021 by a passionate group of thirteen scholars and students, KACS serves as a non-profit academic forum where innovative ideas and rigorous research converge. The association’s foundation rests on a commitment to exploring the multifaceted nature of consciousness, drawing insights from neuroscience, psychology, philosophy, and cognitive science.

KACS regularly organizes a range of scholarly events, including journal clubs, book reading sessions, seminars, and invited lectures. These programs are carefully curated to stimulate critical inquiry and foster rich dialogue among participants. Whether dissecting contemporary research articles or engaging with seminal texts, members benefit from a collaborative atmosphere that challenges conventional perspectives and encourages the synthesis of novel ideas in the field.

Looking ahead, KACS is poised to play a pivotal role in establishing consciousness studies as a recognized discipline in Korea. The association is committed to building robust academic networks, mentoring emerging researchers, and promoting the broader dissemination of cutting-edge ideas. Through its ongoing efforts, KACS not only contributes to the national academic landscape but also adds a meaningful voice to the global conversation on the complexities of human consciousness.
